How to apply UlcerMagic to a mouth ulcer, what to expect afterwards and who should not use it.
Before you start
Each pack of UlcerMagic holds two small bottles and four cotton swabs.
Each bottle holds 0.25 ml of liquid.
Use one swab to dry the ulcer and another to apply the liquid. A soaked swab carries enough liquid for one typical mouth ulcer.
The batch number and expiry date are printed on the carton. Store in a dry place at room temperature, not above 30 °C.
Step by step
Have a glass of water ready before you start.
Dry the ulcer with one of the cotton swabs from the pack, so the liquid reaches it directly.
Open a bottle and dip a cotton swab into it for at least 10 seconds, until the tip is fully covered with liquid. Use a new swab, not the one you dried the ulcer with.
Hold the swab on the ulcer for 10 seconds. Use a rolling motion to cover the whole ulcer, and keep the swab on the ulcer only.
Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and spit it out.
Afterwards
It is normal to feel a brief sting when the liquid touches the ulcer. The pain then eases within seconds.
This white colour is the protective layer that the liquid forms over the ulcer.
Treat each ulcer once only, and do not apply it again to the same ulcer. Do not leave the liquid on healthy parts of the mouth.
Safety
Please read these before you use it. The same cautions are printed on the pack.
Do not use it if you are allergic to sulphur in any form.
Do not use it during pregnancy or on children under 12.
It is for mouth ulcers inside the mouth. Do not use it on cold sores, or on blisters in the mouth or on the lips.
If the liquid gets into the eyes, remove any contact lenses at once, rinse the eyes with water for at least 15 minutes and get medical advice straight away.
It may cause local irritation or mild swelling. If the irritation is strong, rinse your mouth with plenty of water. See your doctor or dentist if it continues.
Do not swallow the liquid, as it may be harmful. If it is swallowed, do not make yourself vomit, and get medical help straight away. Keep it out of the reach and sight of children, and away from clothing, which it can stain or damage.
See a doctor or dentist if an ulcer lasts more than 3 weeks, keeps coming back, is very large, bleeds or looks different from ulcers you have had before, or if you also have a fever or feel unwell.
